Nothing Arrives Through Readiness. It Arrives Through Permeability.

Lavender is a plant ally that can help soften the tense places you carry.

I’ve been observing something recently. People around me seem to be stuck in one place and have been for years. They are trying to force an outcome, doing all the right things, following instructions to the letter, and yet nothing is shifting. They are still in the same place.

I have been one of those people.

It feels like I have a PhD in many things I have learned at this point in my life, but it seems I have been doing things according to what works for others. What has become abundantly evident to me is that this type of readiness and clarity, where preparation and alignment are praised, does nothing for me.

I have been forgetting that I have, and am, my own design.
I came here to do things the Celia way.

The problem with readiness

The kind of readiness I am describing is akin to a form of bodily tension. It stems from an attitude of being held together, of being correct and coherent, and it honestly feels like bracing. We are so concerned with doing things right that we forget we have our own innate wisdom to guide us. To this rational and rather masculine form of readiness, I would oppose permeability.

What is permeability?

Here is what it is not.
Not collapse. Not passivity. Not giving up.

It is a softening of everything that is hard, tense, and contracted. The shoulds. The fears that if you do not do it a certain way you will fail. The amped up nervous system. The beliefs. The structures. The ways it works for others.

Why life waits for permeability

Life does not respond to desire as much as it responds to availability. When we are tense and contracted, nothing moves. We are signaling to the Universe that we are unavailable for what we are asking for.

Said another way, the body is sending out a stress signal of danger. Stay away.

When identity, outcome, and timing loosen, something else has room to enter and flow.

I saw this very clearly when I was looking for my husband. I had done everything I could. I went to the workshops. I examined my beliefs to death. I tried to be a good girl and do it the right way. And nothing happened. I was beyond pissed. He only arrived when I stopped organizing my life around the search. I just wanted to go out, live, and have fun. That was the moment the structure loosened. And when it loosened, he could finally arrive.

Things tend to show up when you no longer need them or cling to them, because the internal architecture that kept them away has dissolved.

This same pattern applies to life purpose.

I see this come up again and again in my readings. We are taught that we are here to find our life purpose, as if it were a single thing hidden somewhere, and once found everything will finally make sense. What I observe instead is that we come here to learn certain soul qualities, to have experiences, to mature into specific ways of being. How we live that is far more flexible than we have been led to believe.

When we grip life purpose too tightly, when we organize our life around finding it, we often block the very experiences meant to shape us. Purpose is not something to locate. It emerges through lived experience, and it can express itself in many forms, many lives within a life.

If you are feeling untethered around purpose, direction, or what you are here to experience next, this is often what I explore in life path readings. Not to define your purpose for you, but to help you see the qualities your soul came to embody and the freedom you have in how you live them.

You can book a life path reading if you feel called.

How resistance hides in good behavior

Many of us have been on a path of self-improvement for years. We have found both reward and solace in spiritual discipline. We meditate. We do yoga. We do the work. We examine our beliefs and our shadows. We take the next course that promises to change our life. We have been taught over and over that if we do things right, we will be rewarded with our desires.

Yet this constant input and insistence on doing it right reduce permeability and the openness required for Spirit to work through you.

All this doing blocks the expression of energy. It blocks your role as the vessel you came here to be. Because you came here to do life your way, and you are uniquely designed for that.

Would it not be more worthy of your time to understand your design, how your energy works, and what you need, rather than following someone else’s formula for their design?

A three-month experiment

For the next three months, I invite you into an experiment with me.

What would happen with less input.
More softness.
More listening than deciding. No list of steps. Just orientation.

Making decisions moment to moment. Checking in with your body and your heart. Moving slowly. Holding the philosophy that less is more, because it allows you to be more permeable and to follow your flow, which is your most efficient path.

So I leave you with this question.

What might be waiting for you, not when you are ready, but when you are open?
